(Vintage Postcards from Old Louisville)
Second
Street
Second Street was a
street of homes for the middle and upper middle class of the late 19th/early
20th Century, still beautifully preserved for several blocks. By modern
standards, many consider these relatively modest and cozy Victorian homes to be
mansions. Not a surprise considering their proud tall elegant façades and
architectural details. In those days, you could also find some of 'Old
Louisville's' most impressive public buildings.
